3.1 – Research and Development: EG&G provides engineering and technical support to the Naval Warfare Surface Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Systems Research and Technology Department (B) for incorporating advanced computer networking concepts and computer systems aboard naval ships.
3.2 – Engineering, System Engineering and Process Engineering Support: The support provided covers a variety of engineering tasks from concept formulation, design, development and validation of expeditionary force ship radars, combat direction systems, subsystems, total ship networks, and software development.
3.3 – Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Support: EG&G provides user interface, utility programming and software integration support in JAVA, C/C++/ADA and FORTRAN for VLSTRACK (Vapor, Liquid, Solid Tracking and for MESO, the follow-on program to VLSTRACK. VLSTRACK is an environmental computer model used by the Joint Forces and other major governmental agencies to determine the dispersion and contamination effects of biological and chemical agents. EG&G performs validation, statistical analysis and data reduction to outputs from VLSTRACK and MESO simulation programs and develops and converts existing codes for several different operating systems that the VLSTRACK and MESO simulation programs, and/or utility program will run under.
3.6 – Software Engineering, Development, Programming and Network Support: EG&G provides support to the Navy’s High Performance Distributed Computing System (HiPer-D), a distributed, highly redundant computer networking environment planned for use on future surface combatants. Systems engineering support is provided to assist in the test and validation of HiPer-D programs and in the collection, reduction, and analysis of test data. EG&G also provides the lead technical expert in Operating Systems supporting the Standards and Technologies Integrated Products Team (IPT) for the Navy Open Architecture effort, as well as the validation effort within the project.

3.4: Prototyping, Pre-Production, Model Making and Fabrication – design engineer for mechanical and electro-mechanical systems in support of the AN/ALE-47 Improved Flight Line Payload Simulator and IROSS Multiplexer Assembly.
3.5: System Design Documentation and Tech Data Support – revised procedural documentation for the SPG-62 and SPS-48 Radars systems IAW approved refurbishment procedures and ISO-9001.
3.6: Software Engineering, Development, Programming and Network Support – developed and tested software for tactical weapons systems used in battlefield assessment and coordination.

3.11: Quality Assurance (QA) Support – performs safety and quality audits as an internal auditor for Night Vision and Chem/Bio Detection systems. QA processes used include ISO 9001:2000, LEAN and Six Sigma.
3.12: Information System (IS) Development, Information Assurance (IA) and Information Technology (IT) Support – develops and maintains visual basic, website, database administration, system analysis and design, and object oriented systems using the full span of programming languages operating systems and hardware.
3.13: Ship Inactivation and Disposal Support – provides support to the Electronic Warfare Systems Department for the removal of AN/SLQ-32 systems from U.S. Navy vessels.
3.14: Interoperability, Test and Evaluation, Trials Support – applied engineering, scientific and analytical disciplines in the operation of a complex testing laboratory including development of Test Plans and Procedures, test data collection and analysis, test monitoring and generation of Test Reports.
